    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are looking for enthusiastic Front of House Apprentice to join our team at Edgar House.

Role Highlights:

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming and efficient service to guests
  • Front of house- taking booking, dealing with enquiries and orders
  • Waiting on serving food and drinks
  • Keep working areas and surfaces clean and tidy
  • Housekeeping duties, cleaning all areas
  • Follow health and safety policy and procedures and be aware of individual responsibilities under legislation
  • Working within the team, serving drinks and restocking
  • Maintain high standards of personal and general food hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen and associated areas

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Proactive approach to work and able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team
  • Confident in dealing with members of the public
  • Experience of taking orders is an advantage but not essential

Personal qualities

To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and who is able to provide excellent customer service.

You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable & punctual.

Qualifications required

No qualifications required. A good understanding of Mathematics and English is desirable.

Things to consider

The work pattern is any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts will include days, evenings, and weekend work to the requirements of the workplace.
