This traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is work preparation training, English, maths and ICT for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement.
Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths and English and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.
This Traineeship Opportunity is unwaged but you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £57 per week in addition to reimbursed travel costs.

New Forest Child Care would like to help young people aged 16 up to 24 into work, by offering quality Traineeship Work Experience Opportunities in Childcare. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-known employer in your journey into the Childcare industry.
In this varied work experience placement you will have the opportunity to learn a vast array of new skills within this nursery located in a variety of locations.
You will gain experience in:
- Meeting and greeting parents and children as they enter and leave the building
- Shadowing other staff
- Supervising children
- Helping at meal times
- Helping with activities with the children
The Traineeship includes Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT as well as work preparation training which ensures you have the confidence to take steps into childcare. It will give you a better grounding of knowledge of a childcare setting.
You would need to be in the workplace 2 days per week (Thursday and Friday) and 3 days in class (Monday to Wednesday). 9.00am till 4.00pm each day.
The Traineeship course lasts a maximum of 16 weeks and is tailored to suit your individual career progression.
Are you eligible ?
1. Are you currently not in a job and have little or no relevant work experience
2. Are you aged 16-24 and qualified below Level 3 (A levels)
3. Think you could be ready for employment or an apprenticeship within 16 weeks

The work experience with New Forest Child Care will mean you will be offered work experience each week, in addition to classroom learning.
