    At SCC we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum. Your salary as an apprentice will be £23,151 (pro rata) annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.

What you will do in your working day

  • To gather evidence as instructed by the training provider in order to compile a portfolio for end point assessment
  • To ensure a high standard of cleanliness in communal areas of designated blocks of Supported Housing accommodation across the city
  • You will make sure that the external surroundings are kept clear and tidy from obstructions and litter
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring all equipment used in your role meets required health and safety standards and report any faults
  • You will assist in the ordering of appropriate stock 
  • To be part of the supported housing team, ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for elderly and vulnerable residents and their families

The training you will be getting

  • Studying towards the Level 2 Cleaning Hygiene Operative Apprenticeship
  • Internal induction programme when starting employment with us

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion you will be a qualified Level 2 Cleaning Hygiene Operative. 

Although we can’t guarantee you a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship, we will support you to apply for suitable roles within the council, and help make sure you are ready for a wider job search.
