What you will do in your working day

  • Due to ongoing expansion Woodlands are looking for apprentices to join their wonderful nursery which was recently rated 'Good' in all areas
  • They are looking for someone who wants to gain an accredited and recognised qualification whilst training
  • Woodlands are able to provide a great place to work with passionate staff who help make the difference to our children and families

As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will cover the following responsibilities/duties:

  • Plan and supervise child initiated and adult led activities which are based around the needs and interests of each individual child
  • Supports children to develop numeracy and language skills through games and play
  • Have key person responsibility to help ensure each child feels safe and secure
  • Observes each child and shapes their learning experience to reflect their observations
  • Meets the care needs of the individual child such as feeding, changing nappies and administration of medicine
  • Works in partnership with other colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of each child

The training you will be getting

  • You will receive full training and support from Woodlands experienced staff in all areas of early years education
  • As well as on the job training working alongside members of the Woodlands team, the successful candidate will have monthly visits and will complete regular reviews with their development coach from Newbury College
  • On completion you will achieve the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard
  • Paediatric first aid qualification
