We are a specialist recruitment firm in Swiss life sciences, hiring a Recruiter Apprentice to identify senior hiring managers, gather contact details, generate targeted leads, and create concise market insights. This role supports business development and offers a clear path to becoming an Associate Recruitment Consultant.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Supporting our Global Director you will be assisting with market mapping, sourcing, and business development. The successful candidate will be highly organised, methodical, data-savvy, and comfortable with multilingual environments. You must be confident, articulate, and not afraid to pick up the phone. If confidence is your strength, we can teach you the rest.
Key responsibilities:
Research Companies & People-
- Find key decision-makers at life sciences companies (like biotech, pharma, MedTech) in Switzerland
- Collect useful info like emails, job titles, company size, and hiring activity
Support Sales & Business Development-
- Spot which companies are growing or hiring
- Help build lead lists for our team to reach out to
Track Industry News-
- Stay updated on company news, funding rounds, and job moves
- Summarise what’s happening in short weekly and/or monthly reports
Keep Data Organised & Accurate-
- Make sure all info in our database is correct, clean, and up to date
- Follow data privacy rules when working with contact info
Map Key Events & Locations-
Find out where industry events happen and who’s involved in life sciences hubs (like Basel or Zurich
Help with Special Research Projects-
Create company team charts, check out what competitors are doing, and track who’s moving where
Sales & Sourcing (Progressive Responsibility)-
50–70% of your role will initially focus on research and lead generation. Over time, you’ll move into a more client- and candidate-facing role, including:
- Sourcing and qualifying candidates and clients via phone and email
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
Supporting delivery of an outstanding client and candidate experience - Taking part in business development and sales activity

- Identify, progress, and convert leads into new candidates, placements, or clients.
- Source vacancies in line with stakeholder requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships and their role within the recruitment process.
- Interpret and apply regulation and legislation, share best practice, and advise stakeholders on their application.
- Plan and manage recruitment campaigns to attract candidates, including agreeing objectives with stakeholders and monitoring performance.
- Research, identify and attract candidates using methods to satisfy job requirements, including those with transferrable skills to move from the legacy carbon economy to green economy jobs.
- Process, review, and progress candidate applications.
- Create and present diverse short lists of candidates to stakeholders.
- Inform and advise candidates on the outcome of their application at the individual stages of the recruitment process, including those that have been unsuccessful.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process for candidates, including those who require reasonable adjustments.
- Communicate information through different media, for example face-to-face or online meetings, emails, reports, and presentations.
- Engage with stakeholders to review recruitment processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improving own performance.
- Review services provided and implemented improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
- Place candidates into roles that match their skills and stakeholder requirements.
- Use technology and software tools to manage information, ensuring compliance with organisation and legislation requirements.
- Challenge poor practice and non-compliance with the recruitment process and escalate where appropriate.
- Identify future changes in the sector that may impact the organisation, for example technology advances.
- Interpret policies to support and promote the delivery of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace, and monitor their impact on recruitment activities.
- Identify and apply sustainable and greener methods of working, for example reducing energy and paper consumption, managing diaries to reduce carbon emissions (hold virtual meetings or attend multiple external meetings on the same day), considering greener options when booking venues for assessment centres or planning recruitment campaigns.
- Identify and maximise opportunities to support the organisation’s business strategy, for example growing client or candidate pipelines.
- Manage resources within budget requirements.
- Respond to stakeholder complaints and escalate where appropriate.

Training schedule
- Full training will be given, leading to a recognised Apprenticeship Standard as a Recruitment Level 3.
- On-the-job training will be delivered by the employer with the training provider's support.
- Off-the-job training will be delivered by the training provider in partnership with the employer.
- The apprenticeship is delivered entirely on the job, meaning there is no college release time required. All training and development will take place within the workplace during your working hours.
- Apprentices complete 6 hours per week off-the-job training during normal working hours (no college day-release needed).
- Training is delivered via on-site visits (depending on location) and Microsoft Teams sessions every 2–4 weeks (apprentices need access to a computer and webcam).
- Apprentices access resources and activities through our online e-portfolio.
- After approx. 12- 13 months of practical training, apprentices complete their End Point Assessment (EPA); Presentation and professional discussion based on the portfolio- Graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C/4 or higher)
- Maths (grade C/4 or higher)
Desirable qualifications
A Level in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
