Summary

This role is an Apprentice Technical Operative . You will study a Level 3 Utilities Engineering Technician Qualification which will take around 36 months to complete in total including the end point assessments (EPA) and you will work with our specialist training provider on this. You will work 40 hours per week onsite.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Getting involved in pre-award client site visits
  • Learning about the tendering process and assisting estimating engineers
  • Working with our Design team to understand the scope and solution of the project
  • Attending buildability, Access, Lifting & Maintenance and Hazards in Operations meetings
  • Learning to understand Health & Safety responsibilities and requirements
  • Using engineering data and documentation to help deliver projects
  • Learn to maintain mechanical devices and equipment
  • Carry out engineering activities – fault finding, pre and post-installation checks and assisting enabling works
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Assisting in operation of plant until handover to the client

  • We are committed to giving all our apprentices the required number of off the job training hours per week to dedicate to your studies and time to attend training with your apprenticeship provider
  • You will work online with our training provider as well as taking part in assessor visits

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)

Desirable qualifications

Other in:
