What you'll do at work

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting company computer issues
  • Problem Investigation, diagnosis & solution implementation
  • Documentation of actions and findings
  • Repairing computers, laptops and peripherals
  • Telephone and email 1st line support
  • Preparation of equipment and services in line with work specification and appropriate deadlines
  • Implementation of hardware and services
  • On-going documentation and administration, updating of records

Training schedule

On the apprentice’s successful completion of the end point assessment, the apprentice will receive the following:

Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship Certification

JBC delivers this apprenticeship over 16-months. This is made up of a 13-month training period and a 3-month assessment period that is known as EPA (End Point Assessment).

The classroom training for the IT Solutions Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.

This apprenticeship is recognised for entry on to the Register of IT Technicians and those completing their apprenticeships are eligible to apply for registration.

On completion of this Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship progression routes available to learners include:

  • Level 4 Software Developer
  • Level 4 Network Engineer
  • Level 4 DevOps Engineer
  • Level 6 Digital and technology solutions specialist (Integrated degree)

Requirements

Essential qualifications

BTEC in:

IT (grade Pass or above)

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade C (4) or above)
  • Maths (grade Grade C (4) or above)
