Summary

We are looking for an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Wolverhampton to help support us in delivering excellence to our customers. As one of the UK’s leading suppliers of industrial cleaning equipment, you will help us to keep our machines in great shape through repairs, testing, diagnostics and more.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

37.5 hours a week (days to be confirmed). 8.00am - 4.00pm, with half an hour unpaid break for lunch. Training schedule to be set by the college.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technicians will work on various types of plant and equipment commonly found throughout the Engineering Industry.

Technicians will undertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance and repair of a range of equipment, sometimes complex, as part of planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes. They may also undertake decommissioning activities when plant is being removed from service.

You will be responsible for the quality of your own work, possibly others’ and ensuring the work is completed safely, meets stakeholder quality, time and budget requirements, whilst maintaining the efficient running of plant and equipment.

  • Repair cleaning machines to the required standard
  • Test completed machines for quality & performance
  • Keep accurate records
  • Inventory booking
  • Work within health & safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area

  • Apprentices must achieve level 2 English and mathematics prior to taking the end-point assessment for the apprenticeship if you haven’t achieved them on entry

GCSE or equivalent in:

After this apprenticeship

  • We would expect the successful apprentice to move onto be a Nilfisk Engineer in the Workshop or a Mobile Service Technician, maintaining machines at customers sites!
