The 24-month programme will provide you with the opportunity to learn on the job and study towards an industry recognised Level 4 Cyber Security Apprenticeship.

At Weetabix you’ll receive on the job training and coaching from the Weetabix IT Team. Alongside this you’ll complete training workshops and assignments, delivered by a leading apprenticeship training provider.

Successful applicants will be involved in Security Operations, Incident Response, Risk Management and user awareness to ensure safe, secure, and innovative business solutions are delivered to drive sustainable value for a competitive Weetabix.

During your apprenticeship you will develop your skills to:

  • Quickly identify, investigate, and resolve security incidents and respond to alerts.
  • Create engaging and effective IT Security Education and Awareness material for all areas of the Business.
  • Provide clear and informative IT Security reporting.
  • Collaborate with Service Line Leads to review and update all IT security guidelines, standards, controls, processes, procedures, policies, and tools.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of vulnerability scans and share recommendations with the service operations team to prioritise corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of IT Security penetration tests, assessments, and audits.
  • Stay informed about current attack techniques and trends to effectively defend against them.
  • Participate in technical review meetings to ensure new designs meet our security standards.
  • Engage in quarterly cyber security tabletop exercises.
  • Meet agreed Security Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and achieve KPI’s.

The training you will be getting

Firebrand’s sector leading Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist (L4CST) Apprenticeship Programme trains apprentices to implement a series of technical, procedural, and physical controls to monitor, detect and respond to a wide range of cyber security threats.

The apprentice is trained in cyber risk and mitigation, maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital data. They will use their skills to feed into policy decisions of a cyber security awareness culture within the business.

The CST standard has 3 distinct options:

  • Cyber Security Engineer - designs, develops and implements security solutions across a network.
  • Cyber Risk Analyst - assesses, analyses, and mitigates cyber-related risk.
  • Cyber Defender & Responder - configures and monitors security systems and responds to incidents/security breaches.

Firebrands course is delivered either Online (online live instructor led), or face to face in the classroom environment (your choice). Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Learning Mentors (LMs) and world-leading trainers prepare apprentices to work across multiple sectors.

Completion of this apprenticeship will provide learners with the following world class vendor certifications in addition to the Cyber Security Technologist apprenticeship:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • EC Council Certified Network Defender
