What you will do in your working day
Duties: [will include but not be limited to:]
- Establishing and maintaining IT and digital communication infrastructure, including wireless or LAN network.
- Establishing and maintaining digital communication software, including email, user logins and passwords; this includes setting up new employees with company email accounts and providing them with access to the network, as well as troubleshooting for existing employees.
- Making sure that the networks are protected from malware and viruses, identifying areas that might be under threat and areas where security can be improved, keeping up to date on ever-changing cyber-threats.
- Installing and maintaining firewalls, establishing and maintaining company-wide access policies to the internet.
- Providing technical support and assistance to employees.
- Performing analysis and collecting data to establish the potential for improvements within the communication networks.
- Maintaining the company’s phone system and working closely with the phone service provider to keep the lines active.

- Learn the core networking and server administration skills required to support a traditional on-premise, cloud or hybrid network
- Dive deep into the management of networks, exploring network hardware and software, network services and routing protocols
- Get immersed in technical content designed around real skills, aligning to and relevant to employers and the market
- Combine online learning live event training and on-the-job experience to develop real world skills using cutting-edge technology
- Level 4 Network Engineer qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
