What you will do in your working day
What will the apprentice be doing? Level 3 Installation Electricians install electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and domestic environments, both indoor and outdoor. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies.
• Assist with unloading and moving of deliveries/systems on site
• Keep site tidy and safe in line with company health and safety policy
• Assisting with the installation of cables, switchboards, lighting, and heating/cooling
• Assisting with fault finding and testing, and checking of electrical systems
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end? The qualification you would be working for is the Level 3 Electrical Installation (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a college to provide the training. This training will require you to attend college one day per week as needed, up to 7 hours/1 days per week. You are expected to travel when necessary though most assessments will be done on-site. You will be responsible for managing/arranging with your line manager.

- Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Electrician where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or Electrical business owner.
You will be eligible for the JIB ECS Installation Electrician (Gold) CSCS Card after the level 3 qualification.
