What you will do in your working day

Duties include:

• Checking and maintaining block paving moulds. This includes new set-ups, fabrication and repairs.

• Assemble parts for refurbing and fabrication.

• Learning of basic machining for fabrication& welding preparation, Involving the training and use of including their safety features.; rolling, pressing, folding and drilling,

• Cutting and preparation of materials.

• Overhauling equipment.

• To work in a team fabricating various bespoke items.

• General housekeep of workshop and yard.

• To work alongside our main customer with their shutdowns and ongoing projects.

• To help with on-site installations both in the block paving industry and hospitality industry.

• While carrying out our normal work duties a wide spectrum of fabrication and welding duties will be taught and undertaken.

• Overtime and weekend work available.

Level 2 Welding/Fabrication Apprenticeship Standard https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/engineering-operative-v1-3 Functional Skills up to Level 2 in English and Maths as required

About the employer

We are a small company that works within the block paving industry. We manufacture moulding for concrete products, service/maintain machinery and equipment, fabricate and machine many other required parts for within the industry. We also produce work within the hospitality industry, brass and copper bar top aprons, glass racks and specialised feature pieces designed by our customers. We are looking to regrow our company so that we can expand our field of work and branch into new areas.
