We have a new exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Rail Plant Engineer. Working on complex Rail Plant carrying out maintenance and repairs under the supervision of experienced staff and trainers. You will work on diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electromechanical systems within purpose-built maintenance depots or on-site in siding.

What you will do in your working day
- To report to and follow work instruction from Plant Fitters and supervisor
- To maintain, fault find and repair specialised plant & equipment under supervision and guidance
- To carry out inspections on plant & equipment under supervision

The training you will be getting
You will study for and be expected to pass a Level 3 Engineering Technician (Mechatronics) Apprenticeship in Plant Maintenance – the apprenticeship will last for 42 months. We will support you through your formal apprentice qualification in addition you will follow the Balfour Beatty Enhanced Apprentice programme with a mix of development events and activities - Delivery method and location to be confirmed.
You will achieve;
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
