What you will do in your working day
As a composite boatbuilder you will be making all components of the International Moth Class foiling sailing dinghy. You will be using wet lay up and vacuum bag, infusion and pre-preg processes to fabricate hulls, decks, wings, foils and components out of carbon fibre and epoxy resin systems. This will involve seeing products all the way through from preparing the raw materials through the manufacturing stages, trimming, painting, finishing to placing the completed product in a bag to ship to clients Day to day duties will include: Delivering high quality carbon composite products Responsibility for monitoring stock levels Ensuring our high levels of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained If you want to produce carbon composite products to the highest standards, then you are the person we are looking for!
The training you will be getting
Training to be provided. You will be given a full health and safety induction and individual training on all hand and power tools that you will be expected to use. Training will be provided, in house, on all the techniques required to produce our boats. You will be studying at college for a level 3 boat builder apprenticeship qualification.
