What you will do in your working day

Based at the Branscombe office of the East Devon Countryside team, working with the Area Ranger and Lead Ranger on practical countryside tasks including maintenance of:

  • Footpaths and trails
  • Land and outdoor
  • Nature across East Devon National Landscape, the eastern gateway to the Jurassic Coast

The training you will be getting

Working alongside your mentor on tasks specific to your apprenticeship, you will develop the skills & knowledge relevant to this apprenticeship standard.

Functional skills if required. 

Your training will be delivered via a combination of mandatory weeklong college blocks (based at Bishop Burton college) and online learning 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Can lead to an assistant ranger or ranger role and potentially move to a L4 Countryside Ranger apprenticeship after additional experience gained in role.
