What you will do in your working day

This is a varied role offering general administrative support for the purchasing team and reporting into the Purchasing Manager.  The purchasing department liaise and support all other departments including Warehouse/logistics, Service, Sales, Finance, Marketing and HR.

The role will include:

  • Raising Purchase Orders
  • Expediting/Chasing orders
  • Stock takes
  • Data Entry
  • Small IT Projects (e.g. updating systems)
  • Forecasting
  • Demand planning
  • Import/Export
  • Dealing with suppliers
  • General office support such as answering emails and making/receiving phone calls.

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard.

In house training will be provided on an ongoing daily basis with the current finance team. You will not be required to attend Dudley College premises as the course is delivered in the workplace only. An assessor will be allocated to you to progress / help you through you course.

Continual assessments, coupled with assignments / or exams depending on course of study. Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week.

At the end of your training, you will sit an exam and submit course work as part of your assessment, and you will receive a Level 3 qualification.

Where a business administrator has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

There will be ongoing, on the job training from this Employer.

Things to consider

Apprentice will be required to go into the warehouse from time to time therefore age needs to be considered for our insurance purposes.
