What you will do in your working day
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and supervision of ground investigations
- Collect geotechnical data and observations through site visits and fieldwork
- Interpret geotechnical data to create and develop ground models for use in engineering design
- Undertake geotechnical modelling and analysis using a suite of geotechnical software
- Assist in the production of geotechnical reports and drawings
The training you will be getting
Completion of this apprenticeship will award you with a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering Level: 7 (Integrated Degree), you will also be put on a 2-year internal training programme in addition to receiving ongoing training and support from the company. Training will likely be delivered by day release at a local university.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon completion, you can expect to achieve professional membership as either a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor.
