What you will do in your working day
You will be supporting us with the following areas:
- Assembly of industrial robotics systems.
- Testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Machining of components and prototype parts - Milling and Turning using both Manual and CNC machines.
- Fabrication - welding, cutting, grinding and use of various power tools.
- Adjustment of non-conforming parts and addition of features to parts for the purpose of assembly – this includes tapping, drilling, grinding etc.
- Reviewing and working from technical drawings and 3D models of systems.
- Electrical assembly of cabinets, panels and robotic tooling.
The training you will be getting
- In partnership with Bournemouth and Poole college, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will attend the college one day a week during term time.
- The remainder of your apprenticeship you will spend with us at the Loop Technology Centre in Poundbury.
- Whilst you are here you will be involved in a variety of engineering build tasks, really learning your craft from the ground up.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
You will gain an insight into a number of different engineering types including build engineering, design engineering, software engineering and commissioning. We are open to developing talent, so if you show great aptitude, interest and skills in a certain area- we will happily develop you.
