    At Loop Technology you will receive 25 days holiday + bank holidays, sick pay following the passing of probation, and access to an employee assistance programme to support with your health and wellbeing.

What you will do in your working day

You will be supporting us with the following areas: 

  • Assembly of industrial robotics systems. 
  • Testing of mechanical components and assemblies. 
  • Machining of components and prototype parts - Milling and Turning using both Manual and CNC machines.  
  • Fabrication - welding, cutting, grinding and use of various power tools. 
  • Adjustment of non-conforming parts and addition of features to parts for the purpose of assembly – this includes tapping, drilling, grinding etc.  
  • Reviewing and working from technical drawings and 3D models of systems.  
  • Electrical assembly of cabinets, panels and robotic tooling.  

The training you will be getting

  • In partnership with Bournemouth and Poole college, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will attend the college one day a week during term time.
  • The remainder of your apprenticeship you will spend with us at the Loop Technology Centre in Poundbury. 
  • Whilst you are here you will be involved in a variety of engineering build tasks, really learning your craft from the ground up. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

You will gain an insight into a number of different engineering types including build engineering, design engineering, software engineering and commissioning. We are open to developing talent, so if you show great aptitude, interest and skills in a certain area- we will happily develop you.
