What you will do in your working day
You will:
- Work as part of the nursery team to provide high quality care and education for children aged 9 months to five years.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues to plan purposeful play in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), children’s interests, practitioner and parents’ observations.
Liaise with parents on a daily basis, in the best interests of their child. - Set out play and creative activities in an attractive and appealing manner, including imaginative play areas.
- Provide varied story time and music sessions relevant to each age group.
- Have regard for safeguarding, health and safety at all times, following the nursery policy and procedures and current legislation.
- Be hard working and committed to helping each child reach their full potential.
- Evaluate all nursery activities on a regular basis and use any information observed accordingly, informing others if necessary.
- Be interested in continuous professional development to further own knowledge and development and that of the setting.
- Use your knowledge and training within the setting to further personal knowledge and understanding.
The training you will be getting
Training to be provided:
- In-house training, plus the candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards an Early Years Practitioner Educator Level 3 qualification. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West.
- You will also gain a qualification in paediatric first aid.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- A full-time level 3 nursery practitioner position will be available to the successful candidate on completion of their level 3 qualification.
