Apprentice Engineering Technician EDGE ENERGY LIMITED
Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will assist with assembling, testing and fault-finding of electronics, and electromechanical devices, and support R & D and prototype manufacturing. The tasks will provide the opportunity to acquire a wide range of practical skills and broad technical knowledge.

What you will do in your working day
- Assembly of surface mount printed circuit boards
- Assembly of wiring harnesses
- Assembly of circuit boards, wiring harnesses and mechanical parts into products
- Component level testing of circuit boards
- Inspection of machined parts
The training you will be getting
- Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard qualification
- Your training will take place during work at Edge Energy in Westbury and attending Wiltshire college and University centre Chippenham campus one day a week during term time
As your knowledge and skills improve, the role will expand to include a wider range of tasks and offer increased levels of responsibility, such as:
- System level testing of subassemblies, software, and products
- Designing assembly and test procedures
- Creating assembly and test documentation
