What you will do in your working day

  • Working with colleagues, contractors under supervision.
  • Be able to work safely whilst carrying out building services engineering activities in the workplace.
  • Communicate effectively when working on site.
  • Learning to install all plumbing, pipefititng and drainge installations and day to day building work/labouring as required.
  • Work with copper, steel, plastic, and all associated tools, fittings and equipment.
  • Install a range of components and valves within pipework systems as guided by supervisor/senior fitter.

The training you will be getting

Building Services Engineering Installer Level 2.

End Point Assessment (EPA).

Functional Skills maths and English (if required).

Additionally, all apprentices must achieve the Level 2 Heating and Ventilating Installer qualification prior to undertaking the end-point synoptic assessment with an independent assessment organisation.

Training onsite will be provided, support with apprenticeship. Full 4 days learning on the job, basic construction course, e.g Pasma, Ipaf.

You will be required to attend college one day per week at Dudley College, Construction Apprenticeship Training Campus (CAT), Waterfront Business Park, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LX.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Once completed Level 2 apprenticeship, look at continuing onto Level 3. After completion permanent position within the company for the right candidate.
