What you will do in your working day

You will learn how to deploy both copper and fibre cabling solutions, this includes:

  • Installation of Cat5e/Cat6/Fibre Optic Cabling (cable pulling)
  • Termination of Cat5e/Cat6/Fibre Optic Cabling
  • Testing of Copper and Fibre cabling 

You will be also be required to diagnose and rectify faults. 

You will be guided throughout this apprenticeship by experienced data cabling installers.

The training you will be getting

You will work towards an Advanced level Network Cable Installer Apprenticeship delivered by VQ Solutions. You'll have a dedicated VQ Mentor and will also be supported internally by your manager.  

During this apprenticeship, you will develop a portfolio, attend training courses, and have regular reviews. All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • The majority of our apprentices are offered full time roles upon the successful completion of their apprenticeship, dependant on performance and availability of roles
