We are offering an opportunity to join our busy, friendly team as a horticulture grounds maintenance apprentice, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. We will support you in learning a range of skills such as mowing (push and ride-on), hedge trimming, pruning and tree care, as you complete your Horticulture Level 2 apprenticeship.

What you will do in your working day
You will be working in a team of 2 or 3 at local sites in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining plants, hedges and trees at customer sites
such as hotel grounds, schools and marinas - General maintenance such as mowing, hedge cutting,
planting, pruning and strimming etc - Use of ride-on mowers after full training
- Weed control and litter clearing
- Working hard to ensure all contracted grounds are at a
high standard
The training you will be getting
- Level 2 Horticulture Operative qualification
- Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English (unless exempt)
- PA2 - Safe Handling & Application of Pesticides
- Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work
- Weekly day release into Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA)
- An assessor will visit you in the workplace every 12 weeks
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- There is the possibility of a full-time position upon completing your
apprenticeship. For further progression within the company, we have team leader and contracts manager positions.
