What you will do in your working day
- Daily operations in the kitchen
- Prepare, cook and present dishes according to the menu
- Respond to leadership of head and sous chefs and fulfil duties as required by them
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, during and at end of the shift
- Ensure food hygiene and stock rotation systems are upheld in line with safer food better business
- Hand over the section you are responsible for, making sure you hand over any jobs and leave it like you would wish to find
- Take initiative and be proactive.
- Bring positivity to your role, be a team player and have excellent communication with willing attitude towards learning.
The training you will be getting
The apprentice will be studying for the Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. This will involve day release once a week at South Downs Campus as well as learning in the workplace. The apprentice will be able to study for Maths/English alongside the apprenticeship with a work based trainer, if this is required.
