Summary
Jenkinsons Caterers are offering the chance for a candidate to take part in a Commis Chef Apprenticeship. Our Apprentices are immersed in a vibrant learning environment within our collection of luxury wedding venues and restaurants. They learn on and off the job from exceptional chefs within a highly skilled kitchen brigade whilst working with premium seasonal produce and high quality equipment and tools.

Flexible shifts and days offered, full time positions available working 4 -5 shifts a week (minimum 30 hours) over 7 days. All breaks are paid and to be confirmed.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As a Commis Chef you will work alongside our talented chefs who will teach you all aspects wedding catering, with restaurants, banqueting and corporate events, including:
- High quality food preparation
- Helping with running and set up of the kitchen to agreed company standards and policies
- Assisting the chef with presentation of a 3 course meal, ensuring that standards of food and service are consistently excellent.
- Basic food hygiene, (CPL),
- Legislation, Regulation, Allergens
- Statutory compliance and health and safety
- COSHH, HACCPs and Best practice
- Knife skills
- Food storage (CCP), time and temperature checks
- Stock control and date labelling
- Procedures and structure
- Knowledge & understanding cooking techniques stocks/sauces/soups/braising/dauphinoise/canapes/labelling
- Help control Kitchen cleanliness
- Working as part of a team
