Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • To assist the college team with day-to-day administration duties
  • To provide administrative assistance across the academy when required
  • Maintain stationary levels
  • Dealing with enquiries from external and internal customers
  • Assist with schools liaison activities and outreach such as preparation of materials
  • Stock control of publications and promotional materials
  • Maintain and update database
  • Promotes a consultative approach to help increase our brand awareness


  • To ensure that you take care of your own health and safety and that of your colleagues in line with the Academy’s Health and Safety Policy
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by your line manager
  • To play a full part in the life of the Academy community, supporting its distinctive mission and ethos actively promoting its policies and practices
  • To work as a member of a designated team and contribute positively to effective working relations within the Academy by attending all appropriate meetings
  • To engage actively in the Performance Management Review process
  • To participate in the Academy’s Staff Development Programme by attending INSET, meetings and opportunities for further training and professional development as outlined in your Performance Review and whole Academy training plan
  • To carry out your duties in accordance with the Academy's Equal Opportunities Policy

Requirements and prospects

  • IT literate and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel

Desired qualifications

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will complete the following qualifications as part of your Apprenticeship:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Standard Apprenticeship
  • Level 2 Functional Skills maths and English if not already achieved
  • You will also develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within an office environment

This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills. You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times.

Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.
