Step by Step has an exciting role for a community or general fundraiser to join the existing fundraising team. 

Step by Step can offer you the following;

A basic salary of up to £16,000
25 days of paid holiday plus an 8-day Bank Holiday Allowance

“Where is the role based and what about flexible working?”

The role is based in Aldershot town centre. Step by Step has a flexible working environment and has a core working pattern between 1000 -1600, allowing colleagues to choose when they want to work outside the core hours. Step by Step also has hybrid working meaning that some days can be worked from home. Step by Step would be happy to work with the successful candidate to devise a working pattern that works for SBS and you.

Step by Step is a charity that passionately believes in supporting young people who are going through hard times. Our unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities and specialist support services, identifies and fulfils aspirations.

Each year we work with over 1,500 young people aged 11 – 25 and our team play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.

The Step by Step team are positive, dynamic, professional, and committed to empowering young people to fulfil their full potential.

Step by Step was incorporated in 1989, so have a long history of working and supporting young people.

“What would you be doing?”

  1. Developing a portfolio of community fundraising activities and events to encourage a strong supporter base.
  2. Manage the charity's existing and new community fundraisers providing appropriate advice and support
  3. Maximise fundraising and ensure long term charity involvement
  4. Build relationships with and make applications to, community groups and local organisation
  5. Plan, manage and develop a programme of bespoke community events
  6. Manage the administration linked to individual and community fundraisers
  7. Attend select community events acting as a charity ambassador

You must have a full driving license and access to a car as travel is required on some days.

Level 3 Fundraiser Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

An apprenticeship is a skills and knowledge learning journey through a standard programme in the sector they work in. Supported by their employer and their sector skilled Development Coach an apprentice will travel through their apprenticeship journey learning new skills, knowledge developing them as an individual and a valued member of staff.

Our delivery of training is through blended learning - supported by one of our sector specialists tutors they will deliver teaching sessions using various methods including face to face teaching, Skype, facetime, telephone and peer virtual classroom whilst using our interactive multi-sensory teaching resources. Teaching sessions are normally bi-weekly or monthly depending on the learner’s preferred learning style. (Please note due to COVID 19 there are currently no face to face teaching taking place). 

Additionally, the Development Coach will provide the support required to ensure the learner enjoys and ultimately successfully achieve their goals and complete their training. We want them to feel our team are approachable at any stage of their learning journey.
