Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Apprentice to join our Quality and Engineering team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in quality control, production support, and engineering documentation while learning about manufacturing processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Key Responsibilities:
🛠️ Work Order & Documentation Management
- Update and manage work orders in line with production and engineering changes
 - Assist in processing Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and maintaining accurate records
 - Check and verify documentation for accuracy and compliance
 
🔍 Quality Inspection & Reporting
- Conduct in-process (intermediate) and final inspections on machined or assembled parts
 - Support the preparation and completion of inspection reports
 - Assist in performing dimensional checks and collecting sample production data
 - Trace and verify parts using part/serial number tracking systems
 
📑 Quality Auditing & PPAP Support
- Complete checklists and audit documents for quality assurance.
Learn and assist in the creation of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions - Create and interpret balloon drawings to support inspection and PPAP requirements
 
🔧 Testing & Technical Learning
- Learn how to test data and parts using basic measuring equipment
 - Support the Quality and Engineering team in identifying root causes of failures or defects
 
🌿 Health, Safety & Environmental Awareness
- Follow company policies related to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
 - Participate in safety briefings and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
 
Skills You Will Develop:
- Understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes
 - Reading and interpreting technical drawings
 - Quality inspection techniques and use of measuring instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometres)
 - Communication and teamwork within a fast-paced engineering environment
 - Documentation control and traceability in compliance with ISO or similar standards
 
Requirements:
- Interest in engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance
 - Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
 - Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word)
 - Strong communication and organizational abilities
 
Training & Support:
- On-the-job training with experienced technicians and engineers
 - Opportunities to learn industry software and quality systems
 - Mentorship and regular performance reviews
 - Support with college assignments or NVQ-related tasks (if applicable)
