Summary

Working within a skilled drawing office, the apprentice will be involved in creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for client review and fabrication drawings, as well as assisting with on-site surveys to support design and production processes.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Training schedule

  • 2 ½ Year Apprenticeship Programme
  • Design Technician, Knowledge, skills & Behaviours - delivered in the workplace
  • Level 3 BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment - Day Release or Remote Delivery (Optional qualification)
  • Specialist Training Programme Blocks of your choice
  • End Point Assessment - Knowledge Test, Practical Test and Presentation/Interview Specialist training in structural steel modelling (Tekla Structures and BIM processes)

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4+)
  • Mathematics (grade 4+)

After this apprenticeship

After completing the apprenticeship, apprentices can progress into Senior Draughting or Design Technician roles, taking on more complex design responsibilities. With further experience, there are also opportunities to move into BIM coordination or management, overseeing digital design processes and project delivery.
