Summary
This is a new vacancy for an apprentice to join the Patient Services Team. We are looking for an outgoing and enthusiastic individual. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in front facing Team Leadership within the health care setting. You will learn a wide range of skills and will play an integral role in the surgery.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Working with the Patient Services Team answering the telephone, liaising with staff and patients and accessing patient medical records
- Using EMIS our clinical IT software for patient management
- General admin tasks such as photocopying, emails, post, filing
- Writing correspondence to support doctors and other medical staff
- General administrative support throughout the practice
- Operating office equipment
- Making and receiving telephone calls- both external and internal
- Working effectively with others
- Producing a variety of documents
- Working within a strict code of confidentiality
- Having a thorough knowledge of practice policies and procedures and work within them
- Participating in an annual individual performance review
- Undertaking training as required for the better performance of the job and maintaining a record of personal and professional development
- Working well within a team, communicating and sharing
- Able to be flexible to meet the needs of the surgery
- Learn skills in the role of team management, including staff rota, monitoring of workload, one to ones and appraisals

Other requirements
Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check. Please consider how you will travel to the place of work, particularly if you rely on public transport. At times, hours may need to be changed at short notice to meet the needs of the surgery. If you are a patient at Grove House you would need to move to an alternative surgery if you are successful in securing this apprenticeship role.
