Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
You will be required to have a full driving licence. Site Supervisor Key Responsibilities:
- Support Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance across site operations
- Ensure a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture
- Conduct site safety inspections and coordinate corrective actions
- Lead by example in safety, conduct, and professionalism
- Liaise with clients, designers, project managers, and HSEQ advisors
- Ensure correct use of PPE and adherence to safe systems of work
- Manage labour and subcontractors, focusing on safety and quality
- Monitor staff competencies and brief relevant information clearly
- Maintain accurate records (e.g. timesheets, plant servicing, inspections)
- Oversee plant management and site organisation
- Apply construction knowledge to ensure efficient, safe operations
- Keep the site tidy and minimise risks to staff, public, and materials
- Promote best practices in safety, environment, and quality

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- Maths (grade 9-4)
- English (grade 9-4)

Other requirements
Ideally - Minimum two years’ experience in construction industry. CSCS Supervisory card. Salary is starting rate. To be eligible for this apprenticeship, applicants must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the past 3 years
