Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable young recruit to become part of our team of accountants. We offer the opportunity to develop the candidate into a senior accountant, who will gain a broad knowledge base across all areas of accountancy and taxation

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Day to day tasks will include data entry and the processing of VAT returns, completing bank reconciliations and the analysis of payrolls. There will be further skills added as the apprenticeship continues

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer. You'll be working towards a Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant apprenticeship standard.
Day release
You will undertake the Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 standard.
Apprenticeship search / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed.
You will undertake both on and off the job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience.

We need to ask all applicants whether they have any relevant criminal convictions and or pending investigation as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Other requirements
You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). About this employer
We are a general accountancy practice based in Doncaster city centre, and have been established since 1989. The company is owned by a former accountancy apprentice, who attended Doncaster College on the same scheme as advertised. The company currently has 6 staff and is looking to expand to meet the current new work that is being taken on. We offer customers a full range of accountancy and taxation services, and as such any candidate will be given a wide range of new skills to take with them through their professional careers.
