Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Engineering Apprentice at Metool Ltd, you will work within the production team and be trained in a variety of fabrication and machining techniques. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Learning how to set up and operate tube-bending machinery
- Supporting drilling and tapping operations on components
- Operating a press brake for sheet metal forming
- Following technical drawings and instructions to produce high-quality work
- Using measuring equipment to check the accuracy and quality of work
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
- Assisting experienced engineers with day-to-day production tasks
- Following all health and safety requirements at all times
- Recording tasks and progress in line with apprenticeship requirements
This role will give you excellent exposure to practical engineering skills within a supportive and professional workshop environment.
