Summary

Q Finance are seeking a proactive Compliance Assistant to support our Head of Compliance in ensuring that our business and appointed representatives meet all regulatory obligations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to develop a career in compliance within the motor trade and financial services sector.

Wage

£14,722.50 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist the Head of Compliance in managing all FCA-related queries from internal teams and external motor dealers.
  • Support dealers with applications and queries regarding FCA permissions.
  • Monitor day-to-day compliance across the organisation and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Assist with the logging, investigation, and resolution of customer complaints in line with FCA guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and reports.
  • Help ensure policies, procedures, and documentation remain up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Contribute to staff training initiatives and the promotion of a strong compliance culture.

What you'll learn

Course contents

  • Customer communication & relationships: Develops effective relationships with customers & key contacts, handling & resolving issues through effective verbal/written/IT skills.
  • Team working & collaboration: Understands role within team & impact on others. Consistently endeavours to support colleagues & collaborate to achieve results
  • Planning & prioritising: Consistently adheres to systems & processes using proficient IT skills, including risk, regulatory and governance requirements

Training schedule

You will attend either face to face or online 1 day per week with our Training Provider, /skills North East.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade 4/C or higher)
  • Mathematics (grade Grade 4/C or higher)
