Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Run by a BHS Accredited Coach, 2* eventer rider and BE course designer. It has a BHS approved riding school. They run BE, BS, BD events. Excellent facilities and top-class livery yard catering for all types.

The candidate will lead a varied role duties including:

  • Supporting the shows
  • Riding
  • Lunging
  • Mucking out
  • Clipping
  • Travelling to shows
  • Turning out and catching in
  • Feeding
  • Getting the school horses ready for sessions and much more

This location is happy to accept a non-rider. There is an option to bring your own horse on livery.

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

  • A level 2 Equine Groom certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • Functional Skills (if required)
  • All training will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit you at work every 4 weeks

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
