Summary

Humber Ribs are looking for a practical and reliable individual to join their team as a Lean Manufacturing Operative apprentice. You will play a key role in the production of high-quality rigid inflatable boats (RIBs). This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys focused, steady work and is open to learning new skills.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an Apprentice Lean Manufacturing Operative, you will:

  • Carry out assembly and manufacturing tasks following set procedures
  • Keep your work area organised and safe, using 5S principles
  • Use hand tools and equipment correctly while wearing the required PPE
  • Check quality during production and report any issues or defects.
  • Work across different stages of RIB building, from assembly to finishing
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop
  • Follow instructions closely, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard

  • Off-the-job training and support from Hull College, a leading apprenticeship provider

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade 2 - 9 or A* - D)
  • Maths (grade Grade 2 - 9 or A* - D)
