Summary

The Apprentice Associate Project Manager will support project delivery by assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from inception to completion. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, they will be required to ensure objectives are met within scope, time, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning Assistance: Support Project Managers in developing comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Task Coordination: Coordinate daily activities amongst team members, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in line with project goals.
  • Status Reporting: Compile and deliver regular progress reports, highlighting key milestones, upcoming deadlines, potential risks, and any issues requiring escalation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication amongst project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain meticulous records of project documentation, including meeting notes, action items, change requests, and deliverable approvals.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Assist in identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies in partnership with the project team.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet GM61 Limited’s quality standards and client expectations.
  • Resource Scheduling: Support the allocation and management of project resources, managing schedules and resolving minor conflicts as they arise.
  • Budget Support: Assist Project Managers in tracking project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial updates as required.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute ideas for process enhancements that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, or quality of project delivery.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Participating in daily stand-up meetings to track project progress and set priorities.
  • Preparing agendas and minutes for project meetings; following up on action items to ensure completion.
  • Updating project schedules and assisting with timeline adjustments based on team feedback and unforeseen challenges.
  • Communicating with team members to gather updates, clarify requirements, or troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitoring and updating project management tools to ensure all documentation and tasks are current.
  • Coordinating with vendors and external partners for project-related deliverables and logistics.
  • Reviewing project documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Escalating issues or roadblocks to the Project Manager when necessary to maintain project momentum.
  • Gathering and analysing data to support project status reports and performance metrics.
  • Assisting with onboarding new team members or stakeholders to ensure consistent project understanding.
  • Helping manage project change requests and ensuring they are documented, reviewed, and implemented appropriately.

  • Use digital tools and software to meet project objectives for example research, collaboration, presentations, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide underpinning data to support the written submission through the governance process.
  • Work within the approved project budget.
  • Ensure that integrated schedules support critical path analysis, interface management, resource forecasting and risk management.
  • Apply relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and ethical guidance where appropriate to their work.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Mathematics & English (grade 9-4 (A*-C))

Desirable qualifications

A Level in:

Level 3 qualification (grade achieved)

Other requirements

Full UK Driving Licence and your own vehicle are required due to the office being in a remote location. Some attendance at the site will also be required.
