Summary
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants working within school. Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs, ensuring effective interaction
- Provide specific support to pupils dependent upon their individual needs (including personal care), ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
- Promote self-esteem and independence
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance and direction of the teacher
- To support pupils at break time / lunchtime with structured lunchtime activities
- Attend meetings with outside agencies and put recommendations into place
- Attending SEND specific training and following strategies and recommendations from specialist practitioners
- Follow SALT programmes and OT programmes effectively to support child’s needs
- Plan and assess interventions designed for small groups of children and 1:1 pupils

- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule
- The learner will be required to enrol and complete the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard
- The learner must achieve maths and English at Level 2 if not already gained
- No day release to college will be required as meetings will take place via our online portal every 4-6 weeks with your tutor
- Monthly cohort delivery sessions will also take place via teams (full details of dates will be sent once enrolled)
