Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at the company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to work for Opal Envelopes Ltd and train in the use of:

  • Machine setting
  • Machine feeding
  • Periodic quality inspection
  • Setting up the line for production
  • Workplace organisation

The production team work with the aim to eliminate faults/errors and improve:

  • Quality
  • Reduce changeover time
  • Reduce scrap
  • Clean down work area

The successful candidate must attend PTP's Walsall Centre bi-weekly/monthly. (Essex Terrace, Intown, Walsall, WS1 1SQ).

More training information

Due to limited public transport options, holding a valid driving licence is preferred.  

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a two-week work experience placement to ensure the role is a good fit for both the candidate and the employer.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 and above)
  • Math's (grade 4 and above)
