What you'll do at work
The Compliance Officer will support the business in ensuring it meets its regulatory obligations under the FCA’s consumer credit regime and other applicable legislation. The role involves day-to-day monitoring, oversight, and reporting activity to help maintain a culture of compliance and effective risk management across Finclusion Ltd. This is a hands-on role suited to an individual with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to regulatory compliance in a customer-focused lending business.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with FCA rules, including CONC and the Consumer Duty
- Monitor regulatory developments and maintain up-to-date awareness of FCA expectations
- Support with regulatory reporting and data submissions, and maintain compliance registers
- Log, track, and escalate any breaches, complaints, or regulatory issues
Monitoring & Oversight
- Conduct regular compliance monitoring in line with the compliance monitoring plan
- Support root cause analysis of any customer complaints, process failures or breaches
- Work with operational teams to ensure actions are implemented and embedded
Policies, Procedures & Controls
- Maintain and review internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with FCA rules and Finclusion’s risk appetite
- Assist in drafting new policies and updating existing ones as required
- Ensure documentation is well-maintained, version-controlled, and consistently applied
Training & Awareness
- Support the delivery of compliance and conduct training to staff across the business
- Help maintain training records and ensure individuals meet relevant competency requirements under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR)
Risk Management Support
- Work with the CEO to support Finclusion’s approach to operational, conduct, and regulatory risks
- Assist in identifying new and emerging risks and capturing them in the firm’s risk register
Financial Promotions & Customer Communications
- Support the review of marketing materials and customer-facing documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and fair treatment of customers
- Ensure that communications meet the requirements of the Consumer Duty, particularly the requirement to deliver clear, fair and not misleading outcomes

- Apply continuous improvement techniques when delivering improved compliance outcomes and mitigating risks.
- Record information electronically and make use of available technology, for example Management Information Systems (MIS), spreadsheets, presentation software, word processing, email, virtual communication.
- Handle data safely and securely and share information in compliance with data protection legislation and organisational policy.
