Summary

The Multi-Channel Marketer Apprentice will play a key role in supporting the Chamber’s Marketing team by delivering day-to-day marketing activities across a range of channels and platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a solid foundation for a career in marketing while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive team.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns and strategies
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Chamber’s websites using a content management system (CMS)
  • Help to develop and schedule email marketing communications
  • Create and edit engaging content for use across digital and offline channels, including social media
  • Conduct desk-based market research to inform campaign planning and decision-making
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide data to support analysis and reporting
  • Organise and maintain marketing assets, imagery, and brand collateral
  • Work with CRM systems to support audience targeting and data accuracy
  • Provide marketing support for Chamber events
  • Collaborate with external suppliers including printers, digital agencies and designers when required
  • Stay informed of marketing trends and contribute ideas to enhance campaign engagement
  • Assist with general administration duties and support the wider marketing team as needed

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Training schedule

Face to face training sessions will be delivered from the state-of-the-art EMA training hub based in Derby City Centre. 

The 3 core knowledge units are as follows:

  • Fundamentals of Marketing
  • Content Marketing
  • Marketing Campaign Fundamentals

In addition to the modules above, you will also study towards the Google Analytics vendor qualification.

Further support will be provided to you through your Digital Coach/Mentor via onsite visits and remote communication.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 5/B or above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

Awareness of marketing principles and an enthusiasm for developing new skills will be beneficial to applicants applying. This role is eligible to participate in the Chamber’s agile working policy Occasional out-of-hours work may be required (e.g. Chamber events) Must be prepared to travel between Chamber locations and event venues when needed (You will be supported to do so and can claim expenses)
