About this employer
Founded in the late eighties, Ribcraft has gained an enviable reputation as a leading British builder of custom built professional Rigid Inflatable Boats, with a broad client base from Commercial and Sea Safari Workboat to Rescue and Military Applications. Built to the highest commercial standards, our RIBs incorporate the qualities of exceptional safety, strength, stability, speed and comfort.
After this apprenticeship
The apprentice would be expected to finish their L2, and move forward to becoming a fully qualified boat builder, choosing to specialise in one of the production areas:
- Lamination
- Fit out
- Hypalon works
Driven candidates should be looking to complete 3-5 years as a boat builder and apply for internal progression to a team leader or supervisory role within the production areas. Further qualifications can be gained by attending courses with some of our major partners, such as Yamaha and Honda. Boat building skills, working with laminates, and understanding RIB’s is a niche that can lead to a highly fruitful career working with other OEM builders or as self-employed contract work.
