Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

* Supporting pupils' learning activities including additional learning needs and development.

* Maintaining an awareness of the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities.

* Establishing and maintaining relationships with individual pupils and groups by using effective communication and understanding the value of treating all individuals fairly.

* Contributing to the management of pupil behaviour by encouraging positive behaviour in the classroom.

* Helping with the care and support of pupils by supporting children's communication and intellectual development and physical, emotional and social development.

* Contributing to the health and well-being of pupils through the support of safeguarding for pupils by ensuring a safe environment and always following policies & procedures.

* Assisting with the personal and intimate care of pupils.

* Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule

Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship, including Functional Skills inf required. You'll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month - NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including review & delivery, communication, pastoral, relationships & role modelling, learning & support, and more! You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer.

GCSE or equivalent in:
