Summary

The Apprentice will be fundamental in supporting the Community Fundraising and Income Generation Team in the successful engagement of supporters, as well as helping KSS be more visible within the community. The role consists of a variety of key tasks, primarily focusing on administrative support, specifically on our attendance at events.

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

• Arranging and facilitating our attendance at community events, organising volunteer attendance, logistics and ensuring events are fully resourced
• General communication to supporters - responding to all communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that our database is updated without delay and that relevant stakeholders are informed as required
• Supporting Fundraising campaigns by making onboarding telephone calls and sending relevant resources or packs
• Arranging and facilitating our store collections and looking at volunteer support to maximise these opportunities
• Supporting our Community Fundraisers with presentations and assemblies to engage new or existing schools or groups
• Assisting with thanking process for fundraising supporters
• Act as a key liaison within the Community Team, ensuring that Community Fundraisers and Community Fundraising Manager are supported as required
• Propose opportunities for KSS to increase our presence, grow our brand awareness and income, in line with KSS strategy
• Work with other members of the Income Generation team to support their activities to drive income and acquire new supporters such as Trusts and Foundations, Corporate and Individual Giving appeals

  • Use data management (compliant with data protection regulation) and analysis to produce and present evidence to support, validate and/or review fundraising activity to different stakeholders, such as analysing the effectiveness of a fundraising event

  • Control, monitor and analyse expenditure and/or financial fundraising transactions to maximise spend on the organisation's charitable cause, including Gift Aid
  • Use a variety of information sources (compliant with data protection regulation) to identify individuals, groups or organisations who can potentially provide effective support for the organisation
  • Plan and prioritise time to ensure fundraising activities are managed well and fundraising potential is maximised
  • Build relationships and identify, engage, sustain and satisfy the on-going needs of supporters and stakeholders by building rapport and trust, and resolve conflicts constructively
  • Identify and apply appropriate technological solutions to improve the effectiveness of processes, procedures and development of fundraising activity
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and recognises their own emotions and their impact on self and others.
  • Adapt and tailor presentation style and technique to meet the needs of the audience

Training schedule

Structured training is delivered through live interactive seminars - 2 x half days per month, plus monthly coaching 1-1s

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 2)
  • Maths (grade 2)
