About this employer

In the winter of 1958, Bill Newis and his wife Barbara opened a shop selling and repairing cycles. In the following year, Raleigh produced its first cycle with an engine, the Moped, which they sold through their cycle outlets. This changed a young cycle shop into a young motorcycle shop. In the 1960's, the Suzuki franchise was added. The 1970's saw Bill & Barbara joined by their son Philip and daughter Julie. 1979 saw a move to the present premises.
