Summary
The Trust is looking for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, nurturing and positive to support and enhance the teaching and learning of their pupils. As a successful candidate, you will have a flexible approach to work and be key in helping pupils achieve their full potential during their time at school.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Your duties as the Apprentice Teaching Assistant include:
- Supervise and support the teaching activities of individuals or groups of children/young people
- Monitor individual pupils' progress, achievements, problems, condition and developmental needs
- Assist the teacher in the development, delivery and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour
- Plans and Personal Care Programmes
- Prepare and deliver programmes to support Special Needs, one-to-one tuition, interventions etc. following the guidelines and training given under the guidance of the teacher
- Assist the teacher with the planning of learning activities in the classroom
- Provide support for local and national learning strategies e.g. English, Mathematics, and Early Years
- Assist the teacher with the administration of baseline/tests and other assessments
- To prepare and maintain equipment and teaching resources for lessons and activities
- Promote high standards of behaviour, employ effective de-escalation strategies and, where necessary, exercise appropriate physical intervention
- Record basic pupil data
- Support children’s learning through play and activities
- Assist with break-time supervision, including facilitating games and activities
- Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits
- Assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene as required while encouraging independence, where required
- Work with individual pupils with special educational needs
- Work with pupils for whom English is not their first language
- Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the classroom

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C or above)
- Maths (grade 4/C or above)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
