Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work at our Thatcham office who we can train in all aspects of customer service and support. Working with Operations and Sales, this is a varied and interesting role. You will be mentored by experienced staff to understand what the company offers to customers and why we stand out from the crowd.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Main responsibilities:

  •  Assist with answering incoming telephone calls in an efficient and friendly manner, taking messages and passing them to the correct people.
  • Assisting the Operations Team in processing customer and supplier orders.
  • Monitoring supply chain activity, checking on time delivery status for both suppliers and our customers.
  • Assisting both the Internal & External Sales Team with administrative tasks.
  • Assisting the Digital Sales & Marketing Team in all aspects of order fulfilment, data entry, reconciliation, reporting and analysis for all Marketplace customers. 

This will involve:

  • Arranging weekly shipments internally and with customer booking systems.
  • Processing work orders and liaising with the Production and Warehouse Teams.
  • Identifying stock shortages for current and future orders.
  • Creating new Part Numbers and BOM’s as required.

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Training schedule

Working towards the Customer Service Practitioner Standard you would attend group training one day a month at WBTC, Newbury and have a monthly 1-1 training and review meeting with your training consultant.

Training towards Functional skills maths and English would be either in person or remotely.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3/D)
  • Maths (grade 3/D)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
