Summary
To support the engineering and maintenance team in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of machinery and equipment within an egg packing centre. You will gain hands-on experience working with automated packing lines, conveyors, and food-grade processing systems while studying toward a relevant engineering qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of equipment including graders, conveyors, sealers, washers, and robotic systems.
- Learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults under supervision.
- Support engineers in ensuring all machinery is running safely and efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Participate in installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out using maintenance software systems.
- Always adhere to health and safety policies and food hygiene standards.
- Keep engineering tools, equipment, and workshop areas clean and organised.
- Attend and complete all required off-site or on-site training as part of the apprenticeship program.
- Work closely with production, quality, and health and safety teams.
