Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Ideally suited to someone with an acute attention for detail and a propensity for numbers, the successful applicant will support the finance team and report directly to the Finance Director and conduct a wide variety of administrative and bookkeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Invoicing: Assisting with processing sales and purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch/payment
- Payment management: Assisting with both incoming and outgoing payments
- Reconciliations: Assisting with reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Financial Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of financial reports
- Data Entry: Accurately inputting financial data into accounting systems and maintaining accurate records
- Record Keeping: Maintaining organized financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other supporting documentation
- Administrative support: Providing general administrative support to the finance team, including answering phones, managing mail, and filing documents
- Communication: Communicating with internal teams and external parties (e.g., suppliers, customers) regarding financial matters
- Adherence to Procedures: Ensuring compliance with company accounting policies and procedures

- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Other requirements
-Location is central Chichester with good public transport links by bus and train. -It is unlikely that there would be any travel between offices. -Day release would be at Chichester College. -This is a 16-month apprenticeship including end point assessment. -Applicants MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. -Applicants WILL NOT BE eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer. -Applicants MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study. -Applicants MUST BE committed to the learning and stay to the end of the apprenticeship.
