What you'll do at work
This exciting opportunity will give someone the potential to develop a career in legal finance within a dynamic finance team in a full-service law firm. As an Apprentice you will become a valued member of our Finance Team, learning and performing a range of tasks and processes. You will gain hands-on experience in many aspects of legal finance whilst also studying towards a professional finance qualification. Duties include:
- Posting of daily cash received into the firm’s account for payment of invoices
- Liaising on a daily basis with the Revenue Control team for receipts received that are unallocated
- Posting of Land Registry, Court fees, Search Acumen and Companies house online portal invoices
- Monitoring and coding Revenue Control inbox
- Checking eBilling portals and preparing reports for Revenue Controller & Partners
- eBilling accruals
- Uploading eBills to various portals by LEDEs format or manually
- Monitoring and liaising with Lawyers to correct errored and temporary time
- Preparing debt packs to include excel report, opening new matters, drafting LBA
- Monitoring Debt Collection receipts
- Filing and administering remittance advices
- Updating new starter rates and maintaining spreadsheet
- Preparing daily cash update
- Preparing Cash forecast document
- Completing Vendor forms
- Annual leave cover for Revenue Controllers
- Dealing with simple queries

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan
BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
5 GCSE's including English and Maths (grade (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent))Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

After this apprenticeship
Whilst the role is an 18-month fixed term contract, if there is a suitable vacant position when the apprenticeship training concludes and the candidate has completed all their required training, they will be considered as a potential candidate for the role. This is of course dependent on the needs of the business.
